Season 3 Premiere will air on May 31st

On April 29th (sorry for being a couple days late on this), Hasbro released an announcement on their Twitter page stating that Littlest Pet Shop season 3 will begin on May 31st, 2014, presumably alongside the release of the IDW-published comic adaptation.

  1. It kind of baffles me that they're releasing the third season this early. The show hasn't had a chance to cool down yet and they're restarting it now? I guess since they don't want to continue Pound Puppies they have to give us something this summer, and maybe they have another show they want to push on us come fall alongside MLP:FIM.

    1. Or maybe they plan on ending this show, so they can focus more on their "five more years of Friendship is Magic."

    2. Possible, but seems kind of unnecessary. They can produce a season and a half, two movies and a handful of shorts of FiM, all with steadily improving animation and massive amount of stuff happening on-screen at once, plus all the non-animated FiM-related stuff while still getting a new season of LPS ready to go this early. Unless they're going to do something insane like produce MLP as 3D holograms, I doubt they need the extra focus badly enough to end a show that, last I heard, was doing alright.
Maybe they need the season to end earlier in the year to coincide with a movie or something.

    3. Addendum: Apparently, they're making a series based on Equestria Girls, the FiM movies. If I had to guess, I'd say they wanted S5 of FiM and the new series, Equestria Academy, to air back to back, which means EA is getting LPS's former time-slot. This could mean either the Hub isn't willing to cancel LPS outright, but is kind of sweeping it out of the way of the main block of season premiers, or that the Hub is putting faith in LPS to keep viewers coming back while its flagship franchise is on break. Or they're burning through an obligation, but that's a downer.

  2. Hmm, this is a bit sudden for me too, as I only have $7 on my iTunes account, so I might start to upload the episodes a bit later than usual as I need to save some money to buy the season pass...

    1. Hey man, I intend on dedicating part of my salary once I get a job to LPS stuff, so if you got a Paypal link or something I can give you some iTunes money.

    2. Hey again, I just checked the Paypal link and it doesn't seem to be working, apparently it's something wrong on your side. Can you check that out?
